OUR LOVE STORY

Jenny Hensel was working for a manufacturing company called MacLean-Fogg within Chesterfield, MI and got a promotional opportunity and decided to move to Chadwick, IL (a tiny rural town) with her rat terrier and rabbit to rural Northwest Illinois from the busy Detroit, Michigan area. No traffic lights in the entire county! Dreams have always been to live around nature and farm life. Jenny, focusing much on her career, and not knowing many people in the Northwest, IL area, decided to get back in the dating scene, so joined an online dating website.

Randy Spensley born in Clinton, Iowa relocated with his family as a kid and lived the majority of his life in Arizona. Fast-forward 20+ years or so later, the family landed themselves back in Clinton, Iowa while Randy relocated to Kansas City and Western side of Iowa and then relocated back to Clinton, Iowa almost the same time frame that Jenny moved to Chadwick, IL (Clinton, Iowa and Chadwick, IL was approx 35 min or so away).

The two decided to chat back and forth for a bit and meet up for their first date months later and the rest was history. They both knew from the moment they first met on that first date in late September that they were meant for each other. Almost like a familiar comfort feeling or like they have known each other for a lifetime and everything we both have always looked for. Ever since their first date, almost inseparable.

After 1.5 years or so of living in Chadwick, IL, Jenny was then offered another opportunity to work remotely for the corporate facility in Mundelein, IL but traveling over the US for all North American plant locations. During that time frame, Randy decided to start working for Walmart Distribution Co in Morrison, Illinois and Jenny was traveling and working remote for MacLean-Fogg Co. Jenny was offered another opportunity to change again to another organization called O-I and further her growth within Human Resources that had a location in Streator, IL. That would require to relocate again and it was a very difficult decision. Both Randy and Jenny knew that it would be difficult to date long distance, but that they were confident that it would work and if meant to be- it would be. Jenny then relocated to Ottawa, IL (approx. 2 hours east from Clinton, Iowa). Randy and Jenny traveled on and off every weekend and took turns back and forth. Never skipped a beat. After approx. 1.5 years, Jenny decided to take another leap and purchased her first home, a beautiful farmette in a tiny town called Braceville, IL. (approx. 3 hours East from Clinton, Iowa). Been a dream since Jenny was a child to own her own farm and why wait any longer, if Jenny didn't start living her dreams, when would she? After almost 3 years of dating, and traveling back and forth, Randy decided that it was time to make the next step in their relationship.

Randy had a romantic dinner date planned one Friday night that he traveled into town to make the proposal happen. Jenny was working late at work since like 4am that day and decided after a rough week, was in no mood to be going out to dinner and getting all dressed up. (If you know Jenny, she is more of a lets throw on comfy clothes, drink a coffee and hangout with her dog type of gal). Jenny said let's just do the dinner on Saturday night, I just want to order some Chinese food, throw on the comfys and relax. Unfortunately Randy had got a call from work that would have him leave Saturday earlier than normal cause he had to work on Sunday super early AM, so he decided why not- just do it anyhow, this is it.

Randy and Jenny ordered their Chinese from a local place in Coal City, IL, picked up their food, got back to the house and set the table. Jenny was about to sit down and said I'm going to go change into my comfy clothes (who wants to still be in their work clothes from 4am-8pm). Jenny got in her comfy clothes and sat down at the table. Randy asked what do you want to drink? Randy grabbed the pops (fridge is behind Jenny) and Jenny looked over her left shoulder and there was Randy kneeling on the floor. Without anything at first in his hand, Jenny said ha-ha get up, you're funny. (Randy can be very comical a lot of times). Randy looked at Jenny with a giant nervous smile and pulled a ring out of his pocket, and popped the question. Of course why would Jenny not say YES.. It was a dream come true!

Approx. a month or two after the proposal, Randy decided to put in a transfer with his work. With his opportunity in place, it was a lot faster than expected. A month or so later, he was moving in and relocating to Braceville, IL. Now living together and never skipping a beat.
